Rousing and amusing western finds a young Jesse James (Colin Farrell) returning home after the Civil War to discover that a greedy railroad tycoon has been forcing homesteaders to sell their land to his rail line cheaply. This prompts Jesse, brother Frank (Gabriel Macht), and their two cousins to become outlaws, robbing banks and sharing their profits with the locals.
