Outraged by the mayhem during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, the Black Panthers found common cause with a group of poor whites organized under the name of the Young Patriots. Realizing that class─more than race─was the determining factor governing how they were treated by law enforcement, the two groups united to combat injustice in the Windy City.
