In order to get a job as a nightclub singer, Londoner Sally (Cicely Courtneidge) masquerades as French chanteuse Mademoiselle Zaza. The charade works, but Sally soon finds herself in the middle of a feud between the club owner and American gangsters trying to put him out of business.
