When a high school senior (Steven Kaplan) learns that the nerdiest guy he knows not only landed a prom date but also booked a hotel room for afterwards, his own fruitless search for a date becomes all the more sad. And if that weren't bad enough, he must also contend with his newly divorced parents (William H. Macy and Cheryl Hines) and their respective romantic entanglements.
