The start, turns and finish are about 40% of the competitive swimming race. These important aspects of swimming are often the difference between winning or losing a race. In this comprehensive program, Tom Jager covers the details of starts, turns, and finishes for the freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke. This informative DVD will benefit swimming coaches and swimmers at all developmental levels. It will also make practices more productive and competitions more successful. About the coach: Tom Jager is one of the most decorated US Olympians of all-time. He earned seven Olympic medals (five of which were gold), and six-times broke the 50 meter freestyle world record. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and won NCAA individual national championships in the 100-yard freestyle (1983, 1984), the 50-yard freestyle (1984, 1985), and the 100-yard backstroke (1985). He was also an eleven-time United States national open champion. Tom Jager was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2004, Jager became the head coach of the University of Idaho's Idaho Vandals women's swim team. Jager then accepted the head coaching position for the Washington State Cougars swim team from 2011-2018. In 2019, Tom and his wife Becky took over coaching duties at the Aspen Swim Club in Aspen, Colorado.
