Commitment-phobic graphic artist Oliver (Ewan McGregor) finds himself unprepared for the sadness he feels over the death of his father (Best Supporting Actor Oscar-winner Christopher Plummer), in part because his dad's coming out as a gay man appeared to bring him a sense of peace--even joy--as he faced his terminal illness. Oliver tries to take to heart that freedom to "start over" by pursuing a new romance.
