Fourteen-year-old Jason Shepherd (Frankie Muniz) writes a short story for school that winds up in the hands of weaselly film producer Marty Wolf (Paul Giamatti). After learning his tale has been made into a movie, and when nobody will believe that he wrote it, Jason feels he has something to prove.
