The pioneering prison drama "The Big House" (1930) follows three convicts and their life in and out of stir. Forger Chester Morris escapes and vows to go straight after finding love, while tough killer Wallace Beery's plans for a big breakout are thwarted when young con Robert Montgomery turns stoolie. Lewis Stone, Leila Hyams co-star. Two-disc set also includes two of M-G-M's concurrently lensed foreign-language versions of the film: "El Presidio" (1930), starring Juan de Landa, José Crespo, and Tito Davison; and "Révolte Dans La Prison" (1931), with Charles Boyer, André Berley, and André Burgère. 4 1/2 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono, Spanish Dolby Digital mono, French Dolby Digital mono.
