Borderline-savant NBI investigator Kari Sorjonen (Ville Virtanen) opted for a simpler existence as his wife Pauliina (Matleena Kuusniemi) convalesced from brain cancer, and left Helsinki for a homicide detective’s job in Lappeenranta, just west of Russia. Between a confounding caseload and a difficult partner in ex-FSB Lena Jaakkola (Anu Sinisalo), however, that easier life wouldn’t be forthcoming.
