Catching the first train out of Reno once her divorce came through, San Francisco socialite Helen Trent (Claire Trevor) couldn’t help but flirt with handsome drifter Sam Wild (Lawrence Tierney)---and he made good on his promise to look her up. She didn’t know that the unstable Sam had left his share of corpses in his wake...and she still can’t shake the dangerous attraction, even as his dark past begins to catch up with him.
