Deliver to
British army colonel Hugh Drummond (Ronald Colman) longed for the excitement his life lacked since the end of World War I, and he found it when a young woman (Joan Bennett) sought his help in extricating her uncle from the suspect senior home where he’d been held against his will. "Bulldog Drummond" (1929), the first American take on H.C. "Sapper" McNeile’s adventurer-sleuth, co-stars Montagu Love, Lawrence Grant, Claud Allister. Then, Walter Pidgeon steps into the role for "Calling Bulldog Drummond" (1951), as Scotland Yard coaxes Drummond out of retirement to pair off with a policewoman (Margaret Leighton) and infiltrate a pack of racketeers terrorizing London. Effective effort from MGM co-stars Robert Beatty, David Tomlinson, Bernard Lee. 169 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
