In director Claude Sautet’s very offbeat love triangle "César et Rosalie," Rosalie (Romy Schneider) is a divorcée pursued by two ardent suitors--scrap metal tycoon César (Yves Montand) and former flame David (Sami Frey)--who team up to win her love and actually wind up becoming the best of friends. Bernard Le Coq, Eva Maria Meineke co-star. Then, in Sautet’s tragic opus "Les Choses de la Vie," an architect (Michel Piccoli) desperately weighing the future with either his estranged wife (Lea Massari) or his vivacious mistress (Schneider) has fate take the choice from his hands. Jean Bouise, Boby Lapointe co-star. 3 1/3 hrs. total. Widescreen; Soundtrack: French; Subtitles: English. In French with English subtitles.
