Fed up with singing radio jingles for Crunchy-Wunchy cereal, young Joan Abbott (Gale Storm) decides not to renew her contract and enrolls in a small college under the name Susie Smith. "Susie" is able to lay low for awhile, trying her hand at reporting for the campus newspaper. But it's only a matter of time before her sponsors launch a public campaign to bring her back.
