Canadian Bacon

In writer/director Michael Moore’s zany political comedy, the U.S. president (Alan Alda) and his staff try to boost a sagging post-Cold War economy (and the POTUS' popularity) through claims of a planned armed invasion by Canada. The plan works, until a Niagara Falls sheriff (John Candy) and his pals launch a "pre-emptive strike" and create an international incident. Rhea Perlman, Rip Torn, Kevin Pollak also star. 95 min.
