First, celebrating 75 years of the Arena di Verona Opera Festival, renowned tenor José Carreras is joined by an array of guest stars for "José Carreras Collection: La Grande Notte A Verona" (1988), performing arias from Bellini, Donizetti, Mascagni, Rossini, Verdi, and more. Next, just months after he had undergone bone marrow transplants to fight leukemia, Carreras delivered the "miracle" show "José Carreras Collection: The Vienna Comeback" (1988). Then, "Montserrat Caballé and José Carreras in Moscow" (1989) spotlights the works of Puccini, Verdi, Bellini, and others. Finally, "José Carreras In Salzburg" (1989) features the world-renowned tenor at the Great Festival House in Salzburg, where he sings works by Scarlatti, Tosti, Massenet, and others. 7 2/3 hrs. total on four discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English PCM stereo.
