Caterpillar

Kyuzo (Shima Ênishi) is a Japanese lieutenant who comes home during the Second Sino-Japanese War after losing his arms, legs, hearing, and speech. His wife, Shigeko (Shinobu Terajima), is charged with not only caring for him, but attending to his sexual desires. However, Shigeko soon realizes the power she holds and questions her role, resulting in an intense struggle. Director Kôji Wakamatsu presents a grim character study with anti-war sentiments. 84 min.
