Colonel Effingham's Raid

Returning to his small Georgia home town after retiring from the service, Col. W.S. Effingham (Charles Coburn) decides to fill his days by cranking out an editorial column for the local paper. When he starts advocating a restoration of the town square, though, the old soldier has himself a new war with double-dealing politicos.
