Produced just prior to the start of World War II, this audacious (for its time) drama stars Edward G. Robinson as Edward Renard, an FBI agent assigned to bust up a suspected Nazi spy ring operating on American soil. Renard’s investigation begins with a dimwitted former U.S. soldier and ends with a prominent doctor sent to recruit German-Americans in support of Hitler. Francis Lederer, George Sanders, Paul Lukas co-star. 1940 re-release version; 104 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
