Inspired by his days living in Philadelphia, David Lynch's nightmarish cult odyssey follows a high-haired young man (Jack Nance) living in a run-down apartment in an industrial town. When his girlfriend (Charlotte Stewart) gives birth to a deformed child and moves in with him, he becomes overwhelmed by a series of surreal events, while taking solace in the mysterious Lady in the Radiator's promises that "in heaven, everything is fine."
