Three films, finished or released during the WWII German occupation of France, from oft-ignored director Jean Grémillon are featured in a three-disc collection. A tugboat captain (Jean Gabin) is tempted to cheat on his wife (Madeleine Renaud) when he rescues a mysterious beauty (Michèle Morgan) at sea in the nautical melodrama "Remorques" (1941). AKA: "Stormy Waters." Banned by the Vichy government for its portrayal of upper-class decadence, "Lumière D'Été" (1943) tracks the romantic entanglements during a weekend at a glass palace in the mountains; Renaud, Paul Bernard, Pierre Brasseur, and Madeleine Robinson star. And Renaud plays the wife of a former WWI pilot who catches her husband's love of aviation and tries to set the women's solo flight distance record in the soaring drama "Le Ciel Est  Vous" (1944), co-starring Charles Vanel and Jean Debucourt. AKA: "The Woman Who Dared." 5 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: French PCM mono; Subtitles: English. In French with English subtitles.
