This three-disc boxed set of noted Renoir dramas opens with "The Golden Coach" (1952), in which a theatrical troupe tours South America in the 19th century and leading lady Anna Magnani ensnares three local men with her charms. With Duncan Lamont, Odoardo Spadaro; this is the original English-dialogue version. Next, Ingrid Bergman is a Polish princess in 1880s Paris who grooms a series of lovers for success in politics in "Elena and Her Men" (1956), with Mel Ferrer and Jean Marais. Fin de siecle Paris is also the setting for "French Can-Can" (1956), a look at the early days of the Moulin Rouge and its bevy of high-kicking chorus girls.
