Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Two Takes (Criterion Collection)
Writer/director William Greaves' unique blend of narrative and documentary, "Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One" (1968), finds the prolific documentarian playing the head of a fictitious film crew in New York's Central Park, attempting to complete a troublesome project while being simultaneously observed by another crew making a documentary. Patricia Ree Gilbert, Don Fellows star. With support from producers Steven Soderbergh and Steve Buscemi, Greaves reunited with many of his 1968 cast and crew for "Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take 2 1/2" (2003), in which he and his team reflect on their earlier efforts and continue to push the boundaries between fiction and reality.
