Well-made German version of the famed Brecht/Weill musical about life in Victorian London's underworld. Lotte Lenya stars as Jenny and Rudolf Forster is Mackie Messer, aka "Mack the Knife"—on the run from the law and hot to trot for Polly Peachum (Carola Neher). G.W. Pabst directs this early classic from the sound era. Fritz Rasp, Valeska Gert also star. Special edition also includes the French-language version of the film, "L'Opéra de Quat'sous" (1931). 110 min.
