Stylish, sparkling comedy of manners and misdeeds from director Ernst Lubitsch stars Herbert Marshall as a sly thief out to woo and fleece French perfume company owner Kay Francis. Marshall's scheme is threatened when fellow criminal and ex-lover Miriam Hopkins joins the household staff for her own con and he finds himself falling for Francis. Filled with witty and (for its time) risqué dialogue, the film boasts a top-notch supporting cast that includes Charlie Ruggles, Edward Everett Horton and C. Aubrey Smith. 82 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English; audio commentary; short "Das Fidele Gefängnis (The Merry Jail)" (1917); featurettes; 1940 radio program; more.
