Returning to filmmaking after more than 20 years, master of cinematic surrealism Alejandro Jodorowsky crafts a symbolism-filled look at his own childhood. Living with his Ukrainian immigrant parents in a coastal Chilean town in the 1930s, the sensitive young Alejandro (Jeremias Herskovits) is severely disciplined by his Marxist father (the director's son, Brontis), who plots to assassinate Chile's right-wing president. With Pamela Flores and Alejandro as his adult self. 129 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: Spanish; Subtitles: English. In Spanish with English subtitles.
