First, Lynch examines the results of illness in the animated shorts "Six Men Getting Sick" (1966) and "The Alphabet" (1968). Then, a disturbed boy seeking love plants a seed that turns into "The Grandmother" (1970), with Richard White, Dorothy McGinnis and Virginia Maitland, while "The Amputee" (1974) finds Catherine Coulson attempting to write a letter as her nurse (portrayed by Lynch) tends to her wounds; and the made-for-French-TV comedy "The Cowboy and the Frenchman" (1988) stars Harry Dean Stanton as a frustrated rancher who witnesses an odd occurrence. With Jack Nance, Frederic Golchan. Lastly, Lynch pays tribute to the legendary Lumière brothers in "Lumière" (1996). 97 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English. Region Free
