Ten years after a devastating virus wiped out much of humanity, a small band of survivors in San Francisco has established an uneasy peace with chimpanzee Caesar (a motion-captured Andy Serkis who also supplies his voice) and his community of intelligent apes who live in the nearby Muir Woods.
