After his mother’s recent death, Brooklyn-based illustrator Dean (Demetri Martin, who also wrote and directed) struggles with his father Robert’s (Kevin Kline) decision to sell the family home. Both men attempt to come to grips with their loss, as Robert begins dating his realtor (Mary Steenburgen), and Dean takes a trip to L.A. where he he hits it off with the cute and quirky Nicky (Gillian Jacobs).
