Detective Montalbano: Episodes 13-15

Based on the novels by Andrea Camilleri, this Italian mystery series (called "Inspector Montalbano" in its home country) debuted in 1999. Luca Zingaretti stars as Salvo Montalbano, the head of the police department in the fictional Sicilian town of Vigàta, who tackles one baffling crime after another while confronting his own personal demons. Cesare Bocci, Peppino Mazotta, Angelo Russo also star.

The kidnapping of a young woman leaves Montalbano wondering what led to her formerly wealthy family’s recent financial struggles...and if a crime has occurred at all, in "The Spider’s Patience." Montalbano questions the conviction in an old case while investigating the murder of a construction magnate, in "Find the Lady." And, "Paper Moon" follows Montalbano as he looks into the murder of a womanizer and the deaths of several politicians. 5 1/4 hrs. total on three discs.
