Between evidence that groundwater contamination was blighting his crop and efforts by the neighboring oil rig to lowball him for his land, Central California almond farmer Fred Stern (David Strathairn) rolled up his sleeves for a court fight. He may not, though, be ready for the levels of legal wrangling--and illegal thuggery--that his opponents are capable of.
