Doctor Who: Peter Davison: Complete Season One
(1982)
In the series’s 19th season, the first adventure of the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) finds him in critical condition following regeneration. His only hope to recovery is the fabled land of "Castrovalva," but an old enemy lies in wait. Next, the TARDIS arrives on an Earthbound spacecraft whose frog-like occupants seem peaceful, but whose leader has a sinister plan in store, in "Four to Doomsday." On the planet Deva Loka, the Doctor encounters the telepathic native "Kinda" people, a colonization team whose members are disappearing one by one, and the Mara, an evil non-corporeal entity that holds Tegan (Janet Fielding) under its control. The Doctor, Tegan, and Nyssa (Sarah Sutton) must deal with an alien menace that plans to unleash the Black Plague in 1600s Europe, in "The Visitation." In "Black Orchid," the Doctor Nyssa, Tegan, and Adric (Matthew Waterhouse) arrive in 1925 England where they stumble upon a pair of murders and a woman (Sutton) who is the spitting image of Nyssa. The fate of 26th-century Earth is in the hands of the Doctor’s old foes, the Cybermen, in "Earthshock." Finally, the search for a Concorde jet that vanished in mid-flight sends the Doctor and his companions millions of years into the past...and into a confrontation with the Master (Anthony Ainley), in "Time-Flight."
