Dog Day Afternoon

Al Pacino turns in a tour-de-force performance as down-and-out New Yorker Sonny Wortzik, who─along with his pal Sal (John Cazale)─attempts a Brooklyn bank robbery to pay for his gay lover's sex-change operation.
