Don Verdean (Sam Rockwell) is a Biblical archeologist specializing in unearthing sacred artifacts. Or, he could be a con man preying on people's beliefs. Either way, when he's hired by a fundamentalist pastor (Danny McBride) to head to the Holy Land in search of religious relics, Don finds his digs are less than productive, forcing him to find a way to pass off a fake version of Goliath's skull as the real deal.
