The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956)

Alfred Hitchcock remade his own 1934 thriller of the same name into this exhilarating suspense classic. An American couple (James Stewart and Doris Day) vacationing in Morocco finds themselves mixed up in a complex and dangerous web of intrigue that involves kidnapping, blackmail, murder, a French intelligence agent, and a political assassination attempt. Brenda De Banzie, Bernard Miles co-star; features the Oscar-winning song "Que Sera, Sera" performed by Day. 120 min. C/Rtg: PG

Pillow Talk (1959)

Charming romantic comedy stars Doris Day as prim and proper interior designer Jan Morrow who shares a phone party line with womanizing musician Brad Allen (Rock Hudson). After a chance face-to-face meeting, Brad becomes quite enamored with Jan, disguising his voice and posing as a wealthy Texas businessman in order to win her affections. Tony Randall, Thelma Ritter, and Nick Adams co-star. 103 min. C/Rtg: NR

Midnight Lace (1960)

This chilling spine-tingler features Doris Day in the atypical role of Kit Preston, an American woman, newly married to a British financier (Rex Harrison), who finds herself being stalked on the streets of London and over the phone by an unseen assailant. With her spouse believing her to be the victim of a practical joker, or, quite possibly, delusional, will Kit be able to save her sanity...and her life? John Gavin, Myrna Loy also star in this film version of the play "Matilda Shouted Fire" by Janet Green. 108 min. C/Rtg: NR

Lover Come Back (1961)

Sparkling romantic romp focuses on the feud between rival Madison Avenue executives Jerry Webster (Rock Hudson) and Carol Templeton (Doris Day). When Jerry creates an ad campaign for a non-existent product and the commercials are accidentally broadcast on television, Carol tries to win the "account" away from Jerry, who passes himself off as the inventor of the phony item. With Tony Randall, Edie Adams, Jack Kruschen. 107 min. C/Rtg: NR

The Thrill Of It All! (1963)

The quiet life of Beverly (Doris Day) and Dr. Gerald Boyer (James Garner) is turned upside-down when Beverly becomes a TV spokesperson for Happy Soap, a popular detergent. As Beverly’s fame begins to grow and she outshines Gerald, he sets out to make her think he’s out carousing so she’ll become jealous and return to contented domesticity. Frothy comedy that pokes fun at Madison Avenue, Suburbia, and TV, courtesy of writers Carl Reiner and Larry Gelbart, co-stars Edward Andrews, Arlene Francis. 108 min. C/Rtg: NR

Send Me No Flowers (1964)

Doris Day and Rock Hudson’s third and final pairing, this lightweight comedy stars Hudson as George Kimball, a hypochondriac who becomes convinced that he is going to die soon after hearing his doctor discussing another patient. Determined to fix his wife (Day) up with another man before he passes away, George starts playing Cupid--with unforgettable results. Tony Randall, Paul Lynde, Clint Walker co-star; directed by Norman Jewison. 100 min. C/Rtg: NR
