Duplex (2003)
In director Danny DeVito’s darkly funny tale, Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore are Alex and Nancy, a young couple who move out of their cramped Manhattan apartment after buying a "perfect" Brooklyn duplex. The fly in the ointment is the elderly tenant (Eileen Essel) who lives in the rent-controlled upstairs apartment. Driven to the brink by her TV blaring late at night and running errands for her, Alex and Nancy plot to do away with her. With Harvey Fierstein, James Remar. 89 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
My Boss's Daughter (2003)
Ashton Kutcher shines as bumbling nice guy Tom Stansfield, who’s house-sitting for his tyrannical boss, Jack Taylor (Terence Stamp), with hopes of getting closer to his sexy daughter Lisa (Tara Reid). As Tom attempts to woo Lisa, he must contend with an assortment of unexpected visitors...not to mention Jack’s troublemaking pet owl. Delightful romantic comedy co-stars Andy Richter, Michael Madsen, Molly Shannon, Carmen Electra. 86 min. C/Rtg: R
Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
