In Mexico City, brawny but dull-witted slaughterhouse laborer Pedro (Pedro Armendáriz) was readily recruited by an avaricious landlord (Andrés Cabrera) and his sultry spouse (Katy Jurado) into strong-arming his striking tenants. Matters darken further when "The Brute" winds up in a triangle with the lascivious landlady and the daughter (Rosita Arenas) of a renter who fatally succumbed to his beating.
