Taking place over the course of one day and set mainly in the title establishment, this quirky "Gen X" seriocomedy follows Empire Records’ eclectic young staff as they band together to keep the struggling business from being sold to a national chain, while at the same time bracing for a pop star's visit and dealing with their own career and romantic crises.
