Ethel Hoyt, a flapper assured of her charm and beauty, is leading along a gaggle of boys and overwhelming her dear parents. So while watching a performance of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew her father decides that, like shrewish Kate, his daughter just needs a taste of her own medicine to be tamed. He conspires with Ernest Eddison, his friend and the actor who plays Petruchio, to charm and tame Ethel.
