First, the third Addie Mills tale "The Easter Promise" finds the entire town is looking forward to the return of a local woman who left to become a successful Broadway actress. As she stays at the Mills' house, both she and Addie learn a valuable lesson about the importance of family. Lucas, Robards, Natwick, and Jean Simmons star. Then, in the fourth story of Addie and her family, "Addie and the King of Hearts," the 14-year-old heroine (Lisa Lucas) develops a crush on the handsome substitute teacher (Richard Hatch) who takes over her classroom.
