In South Auckland, Tania (Sophie Henderson)─an unusually fair-haired and fair-skinned Maori─holds down a scut job in a convenience store in the hopes of earning passage to Queensland for her and her kid brother (Jahalis Ngamotu) to hunt down their absent dad. Between his falling in with the wrong crowd, and her attentions from an imperious regional manager (Jarod Rawiri), things don't go as planned.
