Train robber-turned-actor-and-attorney Al J. Jennings plays himself in the silent feature and three shorts showcased in this collection. In the feature-length western "The Lady of the Dugout" (1918), a journalist takes down Jennings' story of how he and his brother struggle to survive and meet a similarly impoverished woman. W.S. Van Dyke directs; Frank Jennings, Corinne Grant co-star. Jennings' outlaw past is also dramatized in the shorts "The Bank Robbery" (1908), "The Tryout" (1919), and "When Outlaws Meet" (1919). 130 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: music score.
