In his first sound film, Buster Keaton plays the self-appointed guardian/manager of a small-town beauty contest winner (Anita Page) on her way to a Hollywood screen test, only to have it ruined as he turns the M-G-M back lots into a shambles. Robert Montgomery co-stars in "Free and Easy"; copious cameos include C.B. DeMille, Lionel Barrymore, Jackie Coogan, William Haines. Then, catch Keaton (who learned his lines phonetically) in "Estrellados," the hard-to-find, concurrently shot Spanish-language version of the film.
