In mid-'60s Britain, Barbara Parker (Gemma Arterton) believed she was meant for more than being that year's Blackpool beauty queen. Setting out for a London acting career under the stage name Sophie Straw, her looks and comic chops made her a breakout sitcom sensation, but sustaining success in a male-dominated industry would prove something else again. Telling miniseries take on Nick Hornby's "Funny Girl" co-stars Rupert Everett, Tom Bateman, Arsher Ali, Morwenna Banks, Leo Bill.
4 episodes on 1 disc. 188 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
