Having headed to the deep South in order to help with voter registration, it didn't take long for postgrad Jean Rollins (Julie Ange) and her friends to run afoul of a corrupt sheriff (William Watson). Her companions who were left to make a break for it--and got gunned down--might've been the lucky ones, as she faced stunning abuses while getting a taste of local justice.
