When Evan (Evan Sneider), a small-town restaurant worker with Down's syndrome, unexpectedly comes into a large sum of cash, he starts giving money to his old high school crush, struggling single mom Candy (Shannon Woodward). The unlikely relationship that develops between the pair is threatened by the return of Candy's abusive ex-boyfriend Russ (Jackson Rathbone).
