The end of World War II brings euphoric productivity to the citizens of London─except for Peter (Peter Graves), the lazy son of a successful hotelier. Hoping to skate by doing as little work as possible, he sets up a shady club designed to scam well-off guests with the help of Nina (Margaret Lockwood)─but the dishonest operation is eventually unmasked.
