Goya in Bordeaux

Carlos Saura's unconventional look of the life of Francisco de Goya features Francisco Rabal as the 19th-century Spanish artist, who relates the important moments of the past to his daughter while living in exile in Bordeaux shortly before the end of his life. Among the incidents Goya touches on are his own deafness, his thoughts on his "violent" paintings and his long-time obsession with the Duchess of Alba. Featuring stunning cinematography by Vittorio Storaro, the film also stars Daphne Fernández, Maribel Verdú. 105 min.
