The aftermath of war in Bosnia haunts Esma (Mirjana Karanovic), a single mother living in Sarajevo who keeps the fate of her missing husband a secret from her 12-year-old daughter (Luna Mijovic). Unable to find solace in a support group, Esma lands a job as a nightclub waitress, where her tentative relationship with a bouncer only adds to the distrust threatening to tear mother and daughter apart.
