The original LP of "Great Motion Picture Themes" - on CD here for the first time - containing songs from hit movies of the time, such as "Exodus", "The Alamo", "Magnificent Seven", "Never on Sunday" and "The Big Country". The LP "Great Motion Picture Themes" reached number 2 in the Best Selling Albums chart in 1961 and remained in the charts for a staggering 81 weeks earning itself a gold album award. This was a compilation album of mainly motion picture theme songs derived from the United Artists film catalogue. Some of the numbers were solo hits - Theme from "The Apartment" and "Exodus" were both Top Ten hits, "Never on Sunday" reached #19, Theme from "The Magnificent Seven" and TV's "Bonanza" also charted. On this release Marilyn Monroe appears singing "I Wanna Be Loved By You" from "Some Like It Hot". This expanded compilation appears on CD for the first time with additional tracks taken from volume 2 of the LP release.
