Wild debauchery and oil-slicked concubines fill this Italian-made Biblical epic that depicts the last years of 1st-century-BC tyrant Herod (Edmund Purdom). After the bloodthirsty Herod is taken prisoner by the Romans, his loyal military commander (Alberto Lupo) is wrongly informed the monarch has died─but then cannot find it within himself to carry out the Judean ruler's command that his queen (Sylvia Lopez) be sacrificed.
